Amazon has increased its efforts to make its Echo range of smart speakers and apps the default option in India, with music streaming and smart speakers growing rapidly in popularity. The company has now launched the new Echo offering at a price of Rs. 4,999 in India, the Amazon Echo Auto. The app is specifically built for in-car use, allowing access to Amazon's Alexa voice assistant in the car.
The unit itself does not have a speaker and uses a 3.5 mm cable or Bluetooth for audio to connect to your car stereo system. The Echo Auto has two buttons - action button and a mute button on the remote-and an indicator light on the front.
The device is powered by a MediaTek MT7697 processor, and you can also use the app for hands-free voice-controlled access to your smartphone-calls, messages, etc. Usually found in most vehicles, the device connects to the 12V electrical socket and relies on an app on your smartphone to connect.
Amazon Echo Auto is now available for pre-order release and delivery beginning on January 15.
